Chainsaw protection stops a chainsaw through the use of fibres that are picked up by the chain and then pull into the sprocket. This is an almost instant process given that the chainsaw speed is very high. The clogging action is how Clogger got its name.
Most Clogger products uses Arrestex HP which is a high performance technical chainsaw fabric that was developed by our research and development team. Arrestex HP uses UHMWPE fibres (common brand names are Dyneema and Spectra) . UHMWPE is one of the world's strongest man made fibres with very high cut resistance. This cut resistance adds a braking action that can stop the saw before the fibres reach the sprocket. The UHMWPE cut resistant fibers cross woven with Arrestex HP to improve multi-directional strike performance. The use of UHMWPE fibres reduces the amount of material needed to exceed standards allowing for a cooler, lighter chainsaw pant or chap. See the videos below for more information.
